360 Photo Tours of Keys' Locales

The Florida Keys is a string of sub-tropical islands stretching over 100 miles with Florida Bay on one side and the blue Atlantic on the other. Glorious sunsets, tropical flowers, outstanding climate, sensational fishing, diving, and snorkeling - All these are an important part of living in the Florida Keys. The offshore Gulf Stream helps us maintain our moderate weather... warmer in the Winter and cooler in the Summer than on mainland Florida. There are a total of 42 bridges connecting the islands, the longest being the famous Seven Mile Bridge, spanning from Marathon to Sunshine Key.

The Upper Keys consist of Key Largo, Islamorada, and Tavernier. Key Largo is the nearest Key to the Mainland and introduces the Florida Keys to visitors with its marinas, tourist shops, and restaurants. Known as the "Dive Capital of the World", Key Largo also offers an opportunity to shop, dine, and relax in a friendly tropical atmostphere. Tavernier extends from Key Largo to Plantation Key. The historic ocean front community provides easy access to Key Largo and Islamorada while maintaining a quiet island atmosphere. Islamorada has long been known as the "SportFishing Capital of the World". However, this chain of four islands has grown over the years to offer its residents and visitors some of the finest shopping, restaurants, and diving in the Keys.

The Overseas Highway (U.S. 1) links the islands from Key West to the mainland at Florida City. Addresses located along this road are often expressed in mile marker (MM) numbers. When there is a "G" or "B" included, it indicates that the address is on the gulf or bay side of the highway. When there is an "O", it means the property is on the ocean side. Mile markers begin at 0 (Monroe County Courthouse in Key West) and continue to increase until they reach the Monroe County line at Mile Marker 112, just north of Key Largo. Mile marker signs located on U.S. 1 are actually the original mileposts used alongside the railroad track.
